Making hay while the sun shines

One of the great enjoyments of working for myself, and spending 95% of my time working from my home is that I can get my work done at a time which suits me! If like yesterday, I don’t feel like working, then I don’t! Unless I have appointments and deadlines to keep I can arrange my work to suit myself and my timetable.
However, allowing myself to do this is a payoff which means I really have to stay ahead of myself by doing too much too soon, rather than too little too late. Then, when ever I feel like taking time off I know I am always way ahead of myself, and so deserve the privilege of working when it suits me.
Now I have always been a sun worshipper, and just as soon as it decides to shine you will find me either working in my conservatory, or if the weather is good enough, outside in the garden.
For this reason, I tend to store certain types of work which I can do sitting in the sun such as planning, reading books and watching videos on my computer. There is nothing I like better than sitting in a secluded corner of my garden, and next to our small waterfall while being productive.
This environment has many benefits as I find I become extremely effective and creative, and generally achieve far more than I would working from the confines of my office.
Living here in the UK we are never quite sure about the weather and how it is going to treat us, so for that reason as soon as it’s warm enough I am up and outside trying to lead a bohemian type lifestyle. I can always leave working at the computer for other days when I can’t sit outside, and there are always plenty of them, and always a pile of work waiting to be done.
So what is it that you really enjoy doing?
Whatever it is, don’t put it off.
Remember that life is for living. So get every ounce of enjoyment from every moment that you can. If you are one of those unfortunate people who hate their job, reconsider what you are doing and if it’s right for you, SERIOUSLY RECONSIDER! Money isn’t everything unless you don’t have any. Finding a job you love is essential, and taking the time for yourself and doing the things that you enjoy doing is just as important, if you can combine the two even better.
Action plan…
So get a pen and paper out right now and write down the things that you enjoy doing most, and then schedule at least one or two of them into your diary immediately, don’t put it off another moment.
